To whom it may concern,

I am a student that has completed IT Essentials 1 and 2, CCNA 1 and 2 and Discovery 1 and 2. I am currently waiting for Discovery 3 and 4 to run to complete my studies.

I am currently doing the instructors levels of the courses so I can lecture the sri Lankan students this year.

I enjoyed the courses that have been run so far. The courses have been tailored for the vision impaired which is great as it is hard to find such a course.  It is run online accessed both in class and on the internet.   This is helpful as I live in a suburb on the central coast of New South Wales Australia.

I had received an email from my case worker at Vision Australia telling me about the networking course tailored for the blind and vision impaired.   The CAVI courses are awesome, as most people first reaction is that vision impaired people are dribbling idiots, which is not the case in most situations.

In my case I was an assistant manager of a large electrical retail store, until I had a stroke in 2001 and lost my sight at the same time through a disease called Uv itis choretinitis.   I have no vision in my right and very little in my left eye. I was a computer technician before changing professions in 1996 to become a sales person in an electrical retail store.   I also ran my own computer business for 5 years so these courses have revived the knowledge that I had but forgotten due to the strokes.

The courses have helped my short term memory immensely. The lecturers have run the lecture with professionalism.   Being able to participate in each lecture online through the internet is excellent.   This gives us the ability to ask questions in real time.

Also the courses have been tailored for the vision impaired in mind with picture descriptions where needed.   It makes learning much easier because in the normal module notes it refers to pictorial descriptions, so this is an extremely important and intrigal part of our learning.

I am at the moment marking the course labs and worksheets for a group of students in Sri Lanka.

As our Sri Lankan students move through each and every module, we have two people interpreting from English to there own language, as some do not speak English. For me, this is a very fulfilling job.

I also help friends and family fix up their networking problems.   I am hoping to work from home due to my health issues. Overall these courses have been a god send to me in so many ways, including the knowledge I have gained so far.   I want to be able to pass on the knowledge to others in the future and have the ability to run a networking help desk from home. This would not be possible without the knowledge gained from these courses.

Yours Faithfully
