Grace King

I found the Cisco Academy last year. It was advertised on a news bulletin for the blind that I receive by email. I was in computer training at my local technical college, but I wanted to learn more about networking.   I also thought the certifications would open more doors as far as employment.

I was accepted by the academy and enrolled in IT essentials 1 and Discovery 1.   I have already greatly benefited from these courses and the certificate isn't even in my hands yet.   I've gained a great deal of confidence as a blind computer technician. I love going to class and being told that yes I can work on computers despite my disability. I love bing just like everyone else in class, and working with my fellow classmates to solve the challenges we face.

These courses are absolutely wonderful and I think they have improved me as both a technician and a person in general.   I look forward to continuing to study with this unique academy, and getting a job as a prepared, confident, blind technician.

Sincerely
Grace King
