Dear Cavi Instructors,

Thank you for the opportunity of a life time. I have spent the last twenty-eight years wondering what makes a computer tick.   I didn't think I would ever have the opportunity to know the individual components of a computer and how they worked.

I have been totally blind for thirty-three years. I have been using various computers as the hardware and software have improved, but remained an "appliance operator" until I learned about your classes. I thought that I could understand the workings of a computer, but I never thought that an university would offer an adapted class where my lack of vision would be taken into consideration. I am absorbing this technological knowledge and loving it.  I can see employment possibilities that I never expected to be available to me.  I am very excited for myself and all the future visually impaired students that will come along. The computer is a great leveling factor in the world of the visually impaired.  Knowing computers from the nuts and bolts to the software and research & development field removes many more barriers to our self fulfillment and acceptance in society.

The instructors and materials are very impressive. Most of the instructors are also visually impaired so that they are explaining from the perspective of a blind technician and this alone is unique and valuable to the students.   The course standards are high and this makes the course satisfying and complete.   The knowledge and experience is priceless.

Thanks for all your efforts and please keep up the good work.

Respectfully yours,

Robert Hicks
